Description

Ankle sprains are extremely common and need to start their management off on the right path. Learn how to assess acute ankle sprains and some key initial phase rehab strategies as well. Often times in clinic, old ankle sprains can still be contributing to more present issues. We also go over how to assess more older/chronic ankle sprains and how we can direct treatment strategies to progress these to be more mobile and resilient. We go over soft tissue techniques and joint mobilizations to restore function back to normal. Finally, and most importantly we have a large exercise library going over some initial loading/mobility work to some concepts when it comes to return to sport. We cover it all in this course!

Dave Leyland

I have been a Physiotherapist for over a decade practicing in Vancouver, Canada. Before becoming a Physiotherapist I was a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist, which laid an amazing foundation for my career as Rehab Pro. I could not recommend becoming well versed in S&C to any young rehab pro enough, to me it is the foundation of what we do. Early in my rehab career I spent a lot of time developing strong manual therapy skills which I found extremely helpful to manage pain and restore range of motion in my clients. With strong backgrounds in both exercise prescription and manual therapy I wanted to create an educational platform to help connect the dots between the two as I know it can be a confusing world out there for Rehab Pros to navigate.

At the end of the day movement is medicine. Exercise prescription is our gold standard in treatment. However, Manual Therapy is what I describe as "micro-movement education". How can we take assessment findings, implement effective treatments to manage pain and restore joint function and then follow it up with very impactful and direct exercise prescription work. This is the golden ticket and one of the main goals of my courses, workshops and memberships.
